There is a pattern running your life. It picked your last argument. It writes your self-talk. It decides which risks you take and which ones you flinch from — and you have never seen it, because you’ve only ever seen through it. The Enneagram names that pattern. This assessment finds yours.
One circle. Nine ways of being human.
The Enneagram maps nine ways a human being can be organized — nine core motivations, each built around a deep fear it flees and a deep desire it chases. That’s what separates it from tests that sort you by behavior, and here’s why the difference matters: behavior lies. Two people can grind out the same eighty-hour week — one terrified of being worthless, the other terrified of being controlled — and no one watching could tell them apart. The Enneagram can, because it asks the only question that splits them: why. The nine types circle through three centers of intelligence — body types (8, 9, 1) who lead with gut instinct, heart types (2, 3, 4) who lead with feeling, head types (5, 6, 7) who lead with thinking — each shaded by a wing, each connected by arrows to the types it borrows from in growth and under stress. It isn’t a box. It’s a chart: your home port, and every route out of it.
Three lenses on the nine types: centers · stances · harmonic groups.
Your personality is a strategy.
Long before you could name it, you found a way to be okay in the world — a strategy, and it worked.
Be good·Be needed·Succeed·Be different·Understand·Be prepared·Stay free·Stay strong·Keep the peace
Nine strategies. Every human being runs one of them at the core — and we get so good at using ours that we stop realizing we’re using it. It stops being something you do and becomes something you are. That is the strategy’s greatest trick: it turns invisible precisely by working. And every one of the nine chases an “enough” that keeps moving — enough achievement to finally feel valuable, enough certainty to finally feel safe, enough peace to finally rest — until the day you see the strategy clearly enough to ask the question hiding underneath it: what if the thing you’ve spent your life trying to secure was never the thing you actually needed?
Why the water?
The nine types you’ll meet here are the same nine the Enneagram has always taught — same numbers, same tradition, kept in plain view.
What we changed is the names. Traditional labels read like verdicts: the Perfectionist, the Achiever, the Loyalist. One word each, and a little like being graded. But a personality isn’t a job title. It’s a way of moving through the world — and for that, sailors have always had the best language.
So Type 9 isn’t “the Peacemaker” here. It’s the Harbor — and you’ve watched someone be a harbor for a whole family. Type 8 is the Breakwater: the one who stands between their people and the storm. Names you can see. Names with weather in them — because you’re not the same in calm seas as you are taking on water, and your type shouldn’t pretend you are.
If you’ve taken the Enneagram before: your number hasn’t changed. The way you see it is about to.

Already know your number? You haven’t met your name.
If you’ve tested before, you’re exactly who this lens was built for. You know the vocabulary — type, wing, arrows. What you haven’t had is a way to see your own type again — for the first time. So we renamed all nine, deliberately, from the water: one ocean, nine ways of sailing it. A Type 6 has read a hundred times that they’re anxious and loyal. Call them The Watchkeeper — the one who stays awake so the rest of the crew can sleep — and the same truth turns from a diagnosis into a post of honor. Same sea. Different chart.
And this reading adds what your last test likely didn’t: both wings analyzed, honest confidence instead of a verdict, and the exact forks between look-alike types — the confusions are common enough that we built a dedicated head-to-head tie-breaker for every possible pair — all thirty-six, including, quite possibly, the pair you were mistyped into.
What changes when you finally see the pattern
Start with the part nobody tells you: you have a blind spot. Not a flaw — a blind spot, in the literal sense: a place in your own behavior you cannot see, because it is the place you are looking from. Every one of the nine types has one. The Compass can’t see its own resentment. The Navigator can’t see the mask. The Harbor can’t see its own anger, asleep below decks.
That is the cruel physics of it: every gift casts its own shadow.
Peace can become disappearing from your own life.
Knowledge can become a reason never to enter the arena.
Helping can become a way to never be helped.
Strength can become a wall with you on the wrong side of it.
And your blind spot has a budget. It spends your money — the raise you never asked for, the deal you pushed too hard, the opportunity you quietly talked yourself out of. It spends your relationships — the same fight, year after year, wearing different clothes. It spends your body — the stress it generates doesn’t disappear; it just moves in and stops paying rent. And it never, ever sends a receipt.
You cannot fix what you cannot see. And you cannot see what you’re looking through. That is the entire case for the Enneagram — and the reason this crossing exists: it is the one map that shows you the mapmaker.
For yourself
The first thing that changes is the argument in your head — the one you’ve been having your whole life — goes quiet, because it finally has an explanation. Why the same fear keeps steering. Why your greatest strength keeps overcorrecting into your greatest cost. Why you react a half-second before you decide. People describe the moment of finding their type in strikingly similar words: “I assumed everyone worked this way. They don’t. And suddenly my whole history made sense.” That sentence is the sound of self-blame turning into self-understanding — and self-understanding is the only ground anything else can be built on.
For the people you love
Most recurring conflict was never about the dishes, the money, or the holidays. It’s two core motivations colliding in the dark — and you’ve both been swinging at shadows. The Enneagram turns the lights on. Your partner isn’t ignoring you; the Cartographer in them is recharging. Your kid isn’t defiant; the Breakwater in them cannot bear being controlled, even lovingly. There is a moment coming where you read a page about someone you love and hear twenty years click into place. It changes what you say next. Eventually, it changes what happens next.
For your work, your performance, your future
The feedback that fires up one colleague flattens another. The deadline that focuses you panics the desk beside yours. And the careers that plateau rarely stall on talent — they stall on a blind spot compounding interest: the leader nobody tells the truth to, the achiever who can’t stop performing long enough to connect, the peacemaker whose silent “no” arrives as a missed deadline. Nine types is a working vocabulary for all of it — how to ask, how to challenge, how to appreciate, in the language each person actually receives. And it gives you the conversation above every conversation: it can show you the decision-maker making the decision. The pattern was always the ceiling. Seeing it is how the ceiling moves.
One honest note
Knowing your type won’t solve your life. What it does is smaller and better — it stops you from arguing with your own weather, and teaches you to sail it. Everything on this page is written under that rule: we will sell you sight, and only sight. What you build with it is yours.
What insight actually feels like
Knowing you’re a Type 3 doesn’t change anything by itself. Seeing the moment when achievement stops being something you enjoy and starts becoming evidence that you matter — does. Knowing you’re a Type 9 doesn’t change anything by itself. Catching the instant your easy “whatever works for you” is actually a door quietly closing on something you wanted — does.
That is what your report is built to produce: not a label — a hundred small catches like these. Because the space between instinct and choice is where growth begins, and that space only opens for patterns you can see.
How it works
Step 1
Answer honestly
Motivation-keyed questions about why you do what you do — not just what you do. No right answers; the test includes checks that catch idealized answering.
Step 2
See all nine of you
You’re scored on all nine types, not sorted into one. See your complete profile as a chart, with your best-match type and wing.
Step 3
Claim your home port
When your top types run close, we say so — and show you exactly how to tell them apart, the way expert Enneagram teachers do. You get the deciding vote. Your full report then goes deep.
The honest science of the Enneagram
The Enneagram sits in an unusual place: it’s one of the most widely used personality frameworks in the world — and one of the least settled scientifically. We think you deserve to know both halves.
Here’s the truth. Modern research finds real, measurable signal in the nine type scales: well-built Enneagram instruments achieve internal-consistency reliability in the same range as mainstream personality tests. But the framework’s finer machinery — wings, growth and stress arrows — has thin empirical support, and no study has proven that humanity actually comes in exactly nine kinds.
Most tests respond to that uncertainty by hiding it — quoting invented accuracy percentages and declaring your type like a verdict. We built MyDailyEnneagram.com to do the opposite:
Questions aimed at motivation, not behavior
written to psychometric standards — cost- and attention-side wording so agreement bias can’t inflate a score, plus validity and attention checks — because two types can act identically for opposite reasons.
A full nine-type profile with honest confidence
we show you how strongly your result separates from the runner-up, and we say “close call” when it’s a close call — and the data, not marketing, decides which.
The expert’s final step, built in
when your top types run close, we show you the precise motivational fork between them and let you confirm. That’s how skilled Enneagram teachers actually type people; no honest questionnaire skips it.
Measured, and eventually published
every response (anonymized) strengthens the instrument, and as our data matures we’ll publish our reliability statistics on this site. If that sentence sounds unusual for a personality test, it is. That’s the point.
Treat your result as a structured hypothesis about you — not a diagnosis, and not a verdict.
We’d rather earn your trust by telling you the truth than borrow it with a made-up percentage.
Built differently
All nine, always
You’re never flattened into one label; your full profile is the product.
Your wing, honestly labeled
Reported from your adjacent types, framed as the traditional lens it is.
Close calls get the truth
Confidence bands and a confirmation step instead of false certainty.

The Crossing — one assessment, done right
10–12 minutes · 69 questions ·$9.99introductory price · regular $29.99
It’s called The Crossing because that is exactly what it is: a passage from the shore of not-knowing to the shore of knowing — 69 questions of open water between you and the clearest map of yourself you will ever hold. Every question aims at motivation, the why under your what, because that’s the only place the nine types actually differ — and it cannot be measured in five minutes. Validity checks catch idealized answering. Close-call tie-breakers sharpen the result. And when it’s close, you get the deciding vote. One test, built for the most confident result we can honestly give you — and you don’t arrive as the person who left.
You have spent your whole life becoming who you are. Now find out what has been steering.
Public beta pricing — it rises when validation completes, and if you bought at beta price, you keep everything forever.
A note on boxes
The most common worry about the Enneagram is also the most backwards one: “I don’t want to be put in a box.” This isn’t about putting you in a box. It’s about showing you the box you may already be living inside — the one whose walls you’ve been calling just how I am. Your type isn’t your limit; it’s your starting position. The work — and the freedom — is becoming less automatic about being yourself.
Find your home port.
It picked the arguments. It wrote the self-talk. It chose which risks you’d take. You’ve met the pattern’s work your whole life — now learn its name.

Frequently asked
Is my Enneagram type fixed for life?+
The framework holds that your core type is stable while your access to other types’ strengths grows with maturity — but honestly, test results can shift between sittings on any Enneagram instrument, which is exactly why we report confidence and include a confirmation step.
What’s the difference between this and other Enneagram tests?+
Mostly honesty and construction: motivation-keyed items, validity checks, confidence bands, a confirmation step on close calls, and a commitment to publish our reliability data. We don’t quote made-up accuracy percentages.
Can my result be between two types?+
Your profile scores all nine. When two run close, we show you both and the precise difference between them, and you confirm. You also have a wing — the neighboring type that shades your core.
How long does it take?+
Typically 10–12 minutes. The Crossing is 54 core assessment items, 12 head-to-head tie-breaker rounds, and 3 quality-check items — 69 screens in all. Short by design: six well-chosen items per type is the evidence-based sweet spot for a confident, reliable read, without the fatigue of a long test.
Is this a psychological evaluation?+
No. MyDailyEnneagram.com is for self-reflection and growth — not a clinical assessment, and not for hiring decisions.
What’s included in my results?+
Everyone sees their best-match type and full nine-type chart. Your paid report goes deep on your specific type — its core engine, both wings, blindspots, growth practices, look-alikes, your arrows, relationships, and work style.
Is the report a subscription?+
No. The report is a one-time purchase, and your access never expires — it stays saved to your account after the test.
Why is there an introductory price?+
The Crossing launched recently. $9.99 is its real launch price, and it will really end — the regular price is $29.99. We don’t do fake countdowns or perpetual “sales”; honest measurement includes honest pricing.

You already make sense. Come find out why.
