A note from Josh

I’ve led technology teams for years, and every one of them was nine kinds of weather in one room. For a long time I read that weather wrong: I managed people as if they were versions of me who’d drifted off course. The Enneagram showed me what I’d been missing. There are nine ways of being a person, and I’d been treating eight of them as mistakes. Once I could see that, I led differently, and my teams changed with me. Teams that had been tolerating each other began to understand each other, and people stayed.
Over the years I put those teams through test after test, and too often I watched someone get a result they didn’t recognize. The questions weren’t finding the person. So I built the test I’d been looking for. After the main questions, it sets your top types side by side, asks what separates them, and then tells you the thing I care about most: whether it’s a close call.
I named it The Crossing because finding your type is not the end of the trip. It’s the moment you push off from shore. The Enneagram is a passage from the shore of the unknown, where you’ve only ever seen your life from inside it, to the shore of the known, where you can finally see it whole. The passage takes time. Your type isn’t a label you’re handed on the dock. It’s the bearing you sail by: it tells you where you are, and it tells you which way is home.
Everything you need for the crossing is free. The deeper water, at work and with the people you love, is here when you want it. You already make sense. Come find out why.
